    kurokawa-interview

Dr. Kiyoshi Kurokawa (Head of the Independent Investigative Commission on the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Disaster) was interviewed by the Fukushima Global Communication Programme. The commission led by Dr. Kurokawa was the first of its sort ever created in Japan, and in the interview he reflects on the importance – even in a volatile political environment – of maintaining a strong focus on resolving the challenges in Fukushima. Dr. Kurokawa explains the risks associated with the damaged nuclear power plant, particularly in the face of potential future earthquakes, and emphasizes the need for strong government leadership in handling the situation. He concludes by underscoring the need for transparency and openness in collecting inputs and sharing them with the public.
