Christopher Hobson, a UNU-IAS visiting research fellow contributing to the FGC Programme, and Assistant Professor at Waseda University, has published an opinion piece titled “Disaster Preparedness: A Missed Opportunity in Sendai” in the online current affairs magazine “The Diplomat“. Hobson’s piece comes directly after the Third UN World Conference on Disaster Risk Reduction, which was held in Sendai from 14-18 March 2015, and resulted in the adoption of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030.
