The Fukushima Global Communication Programme (FGC) is a major new initiative being developed by UNU-ISP with financial support of the Japanese Government. Building on the previous UNU-ISP project, ‘Human Security and Natural Disasters’, the Fukushima Global Programme will focus specifically on analysing the impacts and consequences of the nuclear accident at the Fukushima Dai-ichi power plant.

Through intensive research and data collection, UNU-ISP aims to become an important platform for collating and sharing information on what has become the second-worst nuclear accident in human history.

The project will disseminate research findings through various media, including: print and online publications, video productions, a lecture series, international symposia and other public events.
