Nicholas Turner is an Academic Programme Associate in the Peace and Security section of the United Nations University Institute for Sustainability and Peace (UNU-ISP). He holds an M.A. in international relations from the University of Kent. Prior to joining UNU he worked for local government and charities, for Qinetiq Ltd as a consultant on the Defence Review Programme for the UK Armed Forces, and in Japan as Chief of European Affairs at NS Foreign Study Centre. His research interests lie in international peace and security, human rights and ethics. His publications include the co-edited volumes World Religions and Norms of War (UNU Press, 2009) and Post-Conflict Countries and Foreign Investment (Adonis & Abbey, 2010), and a chapter in Legality and Legitimacy in International Order (Oxford University Press, 2011).
